Alternative Investment Analytics has its origins in TRS Associates, sole proprietorship owned and operated and led by Thomas Schneeweis since 1982. During the 1980's and early 1990's the firm concentrated on providing consulting advice in the areas of derivative and structured products (portfolio insurance, litigation support) and asset management for funds specializing in derivative products (fund of funds, CTAs, hedge funds). From the mid 1990's to the late 1990's the firm continued to provide consulting in the area of structured product creation, performance assessment and benchmarking, and asset allocation for CTAs, hedge funds, and multi-fund products. More recently, AIA has added consulting based on its proprietary analytical reporting framework. The client base has historically been large investment banks.
